Line caps and forced splits

The per-line limits as the official estimator returned them on 2026-10-10, and the rules that split a box no matter what.

Three splits the system will make for you

These are not tips; two of them are enforced at submission and the third is enforced at a border.

  1. The 90-centimetre tag

Any item with a side of 90 cm or more is tagged 'individually packaged' and must travel alone (article 10089). The tag appears on the item card before you ever tick it.

  2. The mailing restriction

Inspectors set restrictions at stock-in based on brand, category and size; a restricted item cannot be submitted together with others, and the route menu filters itself around it (articles 10087, 10090). When no route shows at all, the 'View Reason' link on the route is the official next step (10088).

  3. The commercial read

Over 10 kg, or many identical pieces, raises the odds customs treats the box as a business shipment (article 10057). Two clean parcels beat one suspicious one.

Liquids, batteries and the quota nobody reads

Liquids and medicines should stay around a tenth of the items in a parcel, the operator's own recommended ceiling (article 10058). The 2026-10-10 line list backs that up structurally: liquid goods get their own entries, USA-Liquid and DE-Liquid among them, with DE-Liquid capped at 45 x 45 x 35 cm and 15 kg.

Electronics ride the same logic: 'Electronic' variants of lines exist precisely because batteries narrow the menu. Mixing one powered find into a clothing box can re-route the whole parcel.

When the route menu comes up empty

A parcel with no selectable route is not broken, it is filtered: the restriction set at inspection did its job. The official answer is the 'View Reason' control on the greyed route and a word with support, who can adjust a restriction at your own risk when the product's nature allows it (article 10088).

Plan around it instead: check a category's usual restrictions before buying six of anything, and keep one flexible item out of every submission so a stuck box can be re-cut.
